Prostate Cancer Causes

Based on epidemiological observations have been suggested four major prostate cancer causes

Genetic factors : Although there are indications that involve genetic factors in the cause of prostate cancer is difficult to separate these factors from environmental factors. Genetic studies have shown that there is a specific gene on chromosome 1 or HPC-1 gene that increases the likelihood of getting prostate cancer.

Hormonal factors : Several studies have suggested that hormonal factors may play a role in prostate cancer development. These include:

- The dependence of the androgen (male) of the majority of prostate cancers.
- The fact that prostate cancer does not appear in the eunuchs.
- The fact that prostate cancer can be induced in rats by chronic administration of estrogen and androgen (male and female hormones).
- The frequent association of prostate cancer with prostate atrophy sclerotic areas.

Environmental factors : Those who migrate from regions of low incidence to high-incidence regions maintain a low incidence of prostate cancer for a generation and then take an intermediate incidence. Have also identified several environmental factors that could be promoters prostate cancer. These include:

- Diet high in animal fats.

- Exposure to exhaust fumes from cars.

- Air pollution, cadmium, fertilizers and chemicals for the rubber industry, printing, painting and naval.
Infectious agents : It was considered that infectious agents transmitted through sex may cause prostate cancer, but epidemiological studies have provided virological and immunological results. Epidemiological studies have suggested an increased risk of prostate cancer associated with a greater number of sexual partners, a history of sexually transmitted disease, frequency of intercourse, relationship with prostitutes and early onset of sexual activity.

In contrast, other studies have suggested that there is an increased risk of prostate cancer associated with repression of sexual activity, as a start in later age, an earlier peak and a premature cessation of sexual activity. Moreover, some studies have shown an increased risk among patients who were never married and an even higher risk among those who had children, but other studies have shown a significant correlation with marital status or the number of children. Similarly, studies of potential infectious agents have not provided conclusive results, nor provide concrete evidence for an infectious prostate cancer Causes.
